Shared Journeys: A Lasting Legacy in the Holme Valley

We’re delighted to share the final film from our ‘Shared Journeys’ photo voice project, a celebration of the people, stories and experiences that have shaped some of our Walk Wheel Ride work in the Holme Valley over the past year.

Created in collaboration with the brilliant Chris from Our Creative Connection, the film brings together photos, reflections and footage captured by participants themselves. Working closely with the group, Chris supported people to record their journeys and tell their stories from their own point of view, offering an honest and powerful insight into what these walks, rides and shared moments have meant to them.

See Chris’s photos below:

The project culminated in a special screening and photo exhibition, where participants proudly shared their work, a reminder of the confidence, creativity and connection that has grown through this programme. Alongside the film, we’re also sharing a carousel of photographs from the project, highlighting the moments and perspectives that made Shared Journeys so special.

As we now wrap up our time in the Holme Valley, this film feels like a fitting legacy of an amazing year. It reflects the impact of the work on the ground and the dedication of our Active Travel Engagement Officer, Gina, whose passion and commitment have helped make Walk Wheel Ride such a positive force in the area.

You can watch the full film on our Holme Valley Hub page, and we’d really encourage you to explore more of Chris’s inspiring work on his website.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped bring Shared Journeys to life!
